MM-25 Set: UATAC Gen 5.7 Combat Pants & UBACS — the Camo That Doesn't Fade

MM-25 Set: UATAC Gen 5.7 Combat Pants & UBACS — the Camo That Doesn't Fade

Short answer: the UATAC MM-25 system is a pair of Gen 5.7 combat pants and a UBACS built from MM-25 Twill-Ripstop, whose headline advantage is colour fastness class 5 (the highest). The camouflage resists sun fade and dry cleaning where ordinary tactical fabrics dull within a season or two. Both items work on their own or as a set, where the pattern stays uniform across the whole body.

MM-25 Twill-Ripstop: why the camo doesn't fade

Start with the material, because it decides how long a garment stays serviceable. MM-25 Twill-Ripstop is a hybrid weave of 55% cotton and 45% polyester. The twill base gives a dense, smooth surface with raised abrasion resistance, while ripstop threads block a tear from spreading — damage does not creep past the puncture. It combines tear resistance and abrasion resistance in one fabric.

The headline trait is colour fastness class 5 on the international scale. The dye holds its saturation even after prolonged sun and repeated dry cleaning. For reference: most tactical fabrics are class 3-4 and fade noticeably within a season or two, and faded camo stops working as concealment. MM-25 (Camouflage Pattern 2025) is the official Ukrainian Armed Forces pattern since 2025, visually close to Multicam and adapted to NATO standards. The fabric breathes well, which suits summer and shoulder seasons.

Gen 5.7 MM-25 combat pants: built for load

The UATAC Gen 5.7 MM-25 combat pants are a model refined through six iterations of real military use, fit for both an assault role and a UAV operator. They ship as a complete kit: pants, knee pads, belt and dry bag — everything needed out of the box, nothing to buy separately.

The knee zone is faced on the outside with CORDURA 500D Brookwood USA — the global abrasion-resistance standard that survives crawling over concrete, gravel and hard surfaces. An important detail: CORDURA is applied to the knee zone of the garment itself as part of the outer layer, and the removable EVA knee inserts slide into a pocket behind it, staying uncoated. The next-generation knee pads use a three-stage fixation: height adjustment via a front pocket sets them right over the kneecap, VELCRO holds the position in any posture, and a hook stop prevents vertical slippage during dynamic movement.

The seat is double-layered — a double layer of Twill-Ripstop multiplies durability exactly where wear is worst during long stints in vehicles or trenches. Two ventilation zones in the groin and lower legs handle thermoregulation, and stretch panels with a 1.5 stretch coefficient give full freedom in squats and running. There are 13 pockets, each with a clear purpose; both cargo pockets have side YKK zips for seated access — you retrieve gear in one motion without changing position. Hardware: YKK zips, VELCRO, armoured German thread, 2 half-rings and a carabiner.

Gen 5.7 MM-25 UBACS: two fabrics for two jobs

The UATAC Gen 5.7 MM-25 UBACS combat shirt combines two fabrics because the sleeves and torso work in different conditions. Sleeves and shoulders use the same MM-25 Twill-Ripstop (55% cotton, 45% polyester, 200 g/m², colour fastness class 5): they get the most sun, so the un-fading camo matters most here. Oversized cuffs with elastic wrist zones suit glove work, and there is an updated patch panel for insignia.

The torso is NyCoLy knit with NILIT BREEZE cooling technology (40% NILIT BREEZE nylon, 52% cotton, 8% lycra). Under a plate carrier the body overheats even at moderate temperatures, and this fabric solves several problems at once: active NILIT BREEZE cooling, moisture wicking, odour control via Odor Management, ventilation from the knit structure, and UV protection. A mesh insert under the arms adds ventilation in the zone where overheating is felt most.

Elbows are the second abrasion zone after knees when crawling. The UBACS ships with EVA elbow inserts, and the outer elbow is faced with CORDURA 500D MultiCam Brookwood USA — on the same principle as the pants' knees. Zip pockets with YKK have internal ventilation mesh; panels are genuine VELCRO. UBACS kit: shirt, EVA elbow pads and a dry bag.
